Pediatric Feeding The Big Picture Module 5 - More Medical Issues

Pediatric Feeding: The Big Picture Module 5 – More Medical Issues

In this 5th Module in the series “Pediatric Feeding – The Big Picture”, we will pick up where we left off in the last module. We will continue discussing more important and unfortunately, common medical issues that can cause or complicate dysphagia, including cardiopulmonary difficulties and complications due to prematurity. We will outline when feeding therapy can be helpful and when it cannot in these populations. We will also discover the surprising and not widely known effects of different medications on swallowing and the importance of always asking what meds your client is taking. Come learn why the patient’s medical history is critically important to diagnosing and treating pediatric dysphagia.
