IAOM 2022 Session 08 | Lymphatic Drainage and Massage for Orofacial Issues
Participant will learn about how the lymphatic system functions, new research in the understanding of the lymphatic system, and how manual lymph drainage, massage, and machine cupping can aid in treatment of orofacial issues.
- Describe how the lymphatic system works.
- Identify swelling and fibrotic tissue.
- Recognize when MLD/machine cupping/massage are appropriate.

About M Julia Schandelmeier LMT CDT:
Julia is a massage therapist and complete decongestive therapist.
Her practice -Post-operative and therapeutic massage, where she and her colleagues specialize in lymphatic conditions including post-operative, lymphedema, lipedema, cancer- prior, during, and after cancer treatment, among other issues.
Julia also teaches “Manual Lymph Drainage for the Intact Lymphatic System” as a 16 hour continuing education course she designed and is certified by the NCBTMB.
